The gatherings are over, the herd has thinned down, at least partially, and the fridge is bare........... lol, hardly!!

The fridge is so full the door barely closes, half of every dish you own is half-filled with something or the other. Leftovers have been warmed and served.

Sooooooo, now what???

Well, I had an idea several years that actually turned out to be a great one that became a tradition with our group of friends.

We hosted a leftover party!! Our gang had been separately doing the family tour thing, so it had been a while since we had been rounded up. The leftover party served two big purposes.

First, it got us back together for some great catching up!

Secondly, I told everyone to bring any and all leftovers they wanted to get rid of. Boom problems solved for all of us!!

Not only did we all clean out our fridges, but we all got to eat different foods than we'd been eating for days. Deviled eggs from more than one fridge? Maybe, but no one makes them the same way, so, still a different flavor.

It was so interesting and wonderful to try new foods, some were traditional to some families, while totally unfamiliar to the rest of us. Other dishes were an experiment of a recently discovered recipe. Regardless of how they came about, they were appreciated!

I highly recommend a leftover party for you and your friends. It's another reason for a fun-filled get-together and actually serves a purpose, too!
