Yesterday, it was chores, chores, chores .......all darn day! I mean, we do chores every day, but look out when the weather report has $##$%%### in it, that ups it into double time.

It started sleeting while we fed my long face buddies their evening cereal. May I just say, my cowgirl does NOT like winter, not even a little!!

Regardless, all the animals have plenty of food and water, as always.

I went running around in the nastiness outside last night and got chilled, even though I had my coat and gaiter on.

My wet coat was hung up to dry but my gaiter was left on...........until I jumped in her lap and gave her a tight hug.......which drove the cockle burr hidden on my gaiter, into her neck........oooooopsies. There were excited utterances, and blood, uh ohhhhhhh.

Again, I sure am glad cowgirls are tough as hell, and that they heal well!!

You know I love my cowgirl, right? I mean, truly I LOVE her!!

However, a little gratitude occasionally would be nice! Sure, sure, sure, she's grateful for so many things, like her family, friends, veterans, first responders, of course, her horses, the wonderful memories, etc etc, so she is a grateful, appreciative person. Except when I try to help, hhmmmpptt!!

Surprisingly, some of our chores involve the house.

Today, for instance, I was all over the bed helping her put the clean sheets on. I held them down here, and there, and back over her, also in the middle, but did she show any gratitude????? Noooooooo she did not, not even a tiny ounce. Huuuffffff, what's a dog gotta do ????

I've been advised that the answer to that is, get down and stay down. 🙄 Fine!!

Good heavens!!! I apparently don't sort laundry to suit her either!! "The socks don't go in the dining room. The t shirts don't go in the living room" whatevs......

During chores this morning I advised two hunters that they were not welcome. Uh oh, turns out it "is not my place to police the world " and since they were hunting on their own property, I was made to whoa, sit and apologize!!! They were really nice about it though, thankfully!! Sorry guys!!

I think I'll just chew on a stick and forget about my transgression………
