Hi.

Welcome to my blog. This is where I document my adventures.

Hope you have a nice stay!

Charlie Diaries - On a Mission

Charlie Diaries - On a Mission

Off on a mission, yesterday to see about retrieving those lost photos on my cowgirl's phone.

The first thing, of course,  was doing chores. My long face buddies were fed, and hayed, and got fresh water...........they are rather pampered if you ask me.

My cowgirl told me it was quite cheeky of me to make such a comment,  hmmmmm wonder what she meant by THAT????

I had to give up my visit with Santa on Saturday because of them, but all of my buddies are healthy and happy, so it's all good!

Anyway,  she was getting ready to leave,  but hadn't said anything about whether I got to go, or......... gulp,  not.

So I  stuck to her like Gorilla glue!

I kept dancing around,  wiggle wiggle wiggle and looking her in the eye while being especially adorable.

Boomshakalaka, road trip!!

The people at the phone place did not make my cowgirl happy,  like at all. I sense a text being sent to Rusty soon.........

Bowls

Another stop, stuff piles up in the backseat. She looked for the small plastic bowls that she keeps in our truck for me, but didn't find them, so at the next stop, she bought a small metal bowl and freshwater.

When she opened the door to give me the water, what to her wandering eyes should appear but the remains of those bowls, in more than eight tiny pieces.  Uh oh

Another stop, and we went for a walk. Birds had roosted in the tree overhead, they took offense at me walking underneath them and in a huff lifted off shrieking. Oh my goodness,  they scared me silly!! My cowgirl laughed at me!! I would have found it offensive if she hadn't been hugging me to calm me down.

Once I was settled down it was back to the safety of my truck as I snuggled up to wait. She grabbed more stuff in the store, then on the way out the door.........well. she broke down passing by the Aunt Annie's. I'm soooo glad .....road snacking is the best!! I know she loves me because she shared with me even after the unfortunate shredding of the bowls.

Cap

We were cranking up the tunes, headed home when she reached for her drink bottle and somehow got poked on her hand because the cap was rather rough and perhaps a tad misshapen. Strike two

She gave me the side-eye thing and spoke in that low even tone that makes any creature within hearing distance promise to be good.

I decided the best course of action was a  nap, so I was snoozing good when suddenly I hear that tone, but even lower and more measured.........."Charlie, do you have any idea as to where my missing Blistick might be"?????

I was getting nervous, because as a matter of fact, I did know where it was. I looked at her with loving eyes, even tried to hug her. She was not having any of that nonsense. She had no proof that I done anything,  so I went back to sleep, hopeful she would forget about it by the time we got home.

Blistex

She did not....... the slightly aerated, altered Blistick was located...........strike three.

I'm going to be on my best behavior............. unless I can't.

A most splendid thing happened today that elevated my cowgirl's mood. One of our fans, Kathy G,  had commented in the past that she reads our stories to her Aunt Theresa, who resides in a center for those with memory loss, and that Ms. Theresa enjoys them very much. This made us both feel so very good!!

Well, guess what!!!! After a caregiver overheard Ms. Kathy reading the latest installment,  the activity leaders are now signing up for the blog, and will be putting Charlie Diaries on the big screen!!!!!

We feel so honored to cause some smiles, maybe a few laughs, too, in any way, engage people and hopefully lift their spirits!!  We appreciate being a part of their facility now. Thank you so very much!!!!

It's is a new day, and I was  having an absolute blast playing with Rock this morning,  running around, quick spins, some kisses thrown in..........until the cowgirl came looking for me.  It was pointed out to me that the rules state that I am to neither get into the stallion's run-in, nor play with him.  Rules, shmules, I saw her laughing and we both got hugs and scratches, sooooooooo?????

We ran some errands in the big truck today.

As we were cruising down the highway when suddenly air was rushing in. Weird how my window was down. My cowgirl put it back up and in one quick swat I put it back down.

Through clenched teeth my cowgirl mentioned that I  was like a toddler and that now she had to make sure all child safety locks were on.

She was rubbing her forehead quite a bit on the way home from the feed store, maybe she has a headache,  poor thing.

I feel great and can't wait till we do the evening feeding and I can play with my long face buddies!! My favorite!!!!!
