Charlie Diaries - Day 1

Charlie Diaries - Day 1

Sooooooo, let me just say, this is bullshit!

Let me explain, I'm a city dog, have been my entire life of 18ish months. It is all I've ever known.

But I arrived in "the country" this morning, for an extended visit while my owner relocates.
I'm staying on something called a farm, with a gal referred to as a "cowgirl"........never heard of either.

When I met this cowgirl person she petted me, told me I was cute, let me hug her, then disillusioned me when she started demanding that I mind when told to sit, whoa, stay.........wth????? I rolled my eyes at my owner, and sent a telepathic message that I'd get her trained in no time!
I had zero doubt until laughter filled the air.......hmmmmmmmm

I've been hearing about "the country" for a couple of weeks............it'll be great they said, it'll be fun they said............ welllllllll

Here's my first impression. I arrive with aforementioned cowgirl, and she feeds me, gives me water, walks me, gives me treats, turns the TV on, puts a cuddly blanket, and my Kong (which she filled with peanut butter), in my crate........her training is coming along nicely.
She requested I enter my cage, and I capitulate because she seems sad this afternoon, said something about going to funeral???

When she returned a few hours later she changed into "barn clothes " ........just for the record, THAT attire will never grace Vogue!......and said we both needed fresh air, so off we went to the dog yard. I was told I'd love the freedom of running around in there, that I had freshly bedded houses, a kiddie pool, and a brush pile to play in while she fed "horses"????
She ran around in the dog yard with me, and it was pretty cool........until I went to the back fence by myself and a little spotted thing sprang up on the other side of the fence, bleated like I did something wrong, and suddenly a bigger version but without spots appeared and snorted at me, loudly!! How rude!!!!
And it scared the hell out of me!

I demanded I be taken back to the house, and do you know what that cowgirl said???? No!! She had the nerve to tell me no, and left me alone in that damn dog yard while she did "chores"
Her training may take longer than I anticipated, and I have a whole new language to learn, but I remain committed to teaching her a thing or two!!
